Bei den World Travel Awards 2019 in Muscat im Oman wurden jetzt einmal mehr so viele Hotels und Tourismusunternehmen ausgezeichnet, dass die Frage eigentlich lauten sollte: Wer hat keinen Preis gewonnen? Ein Hotel aus Österreich schafft es auf die globale Preisebene.
Zu den Gewinnern gehörten Etihad Airways, die als "World's Leading Airline" ausgezeichnet wurde, das Armani Hotel Dubai, das zum "World's Leading Hotel" gewählt wurde, während Dubai die den Preis als "World's Leading Business Travel Destination" erhielt. Die Insel St. Lucia erhielt die Auszeichnung "World's Leading Honeymoon Destination", Kenia wurde "World's Leading Safari Destination", und Moskau "World's Leading City Destination" zu etablieren.
Zu den Gewinnern aus der Hotellerie gehörten die Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts ("World's Leading Luxury Hotel Brand"); Al Bustan Palace, ein Ritz-Carlton Hotel, Oman ("World's Leading Palace Hotel"); Tower Club at lebua ("World's Leading All Suite Hotel"); Fraser Hospitality ('World's Leading Serviced Apartment Brand'); Hotel de la Coupole MGallery von Sofitel, Vietnam ('World's Leading Design Hotel'); und InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, Vietnam ('World's Leading Luxury Beach Resort'). Das Grandhotel Lienz in Österreich wurde World's Leading Wellness Hotel 2019.
